EDMOND, Okla. — Petra Industries, the consumer technology authority and wholesale electronics distributor, hosted a blood drive on February 8 in association with the Oklahoma Blood Institute. True to the Oklahoma Blood Institute’s theme “Rise Up & Give” a number of donors turned out to give back.
Ross Sherman, who donates regularly, stated that, “When the call goes out for donating blood, I make sure I am one of the volunteers. This is something my mom instilled to me to make a difference and help others who are in need. And in these unprecedented times, my donation is an excellent way to help.”
Petra Industries and OBI have been partnering for years to host blood drives at Petra’s corporate office. Petra Industries is constantly giving back to the community through a variety of means, including a Volunteer Time Off policy. The policy allows employees to take paid time off to partake in volunteer events that fall within the work week with the hope of inspiring volunteerism while furthering the company’s impact within the communities that employees are a part of.
