This year’s events generated proceeds of $60,000 for Mercy Ministries of America and Whiz Kids. This year’s festivities began on the evening of Wednesday, September 24th with a cocktail reception and a “Show your helping hand” Texas Hold ‘Em tournament at the Fox and Hound Pub & Grille. On Thursday morning, September 25th, the one-hundred seventeen participants started with a shotgun-start golf scramble at the prestigious Oak Tree Golf Country Club in Edmond, Okla. An awards luncheon concluded the day’s events and included awards for the longest drive, longest putt and bonus ball, as well as the presentation of checks for $30,000 each to Selah Hirsch, Director of Development for Mercy Ministries of America, and Masie Bross, Program Director for Whiz Kids. “Petra has a strong commitment to giving back to our community. We believe it is our responsibility to contribute when we can to help others, and we are so proud to work with so many companies that also have the same strong service convictions. We extend our deepest gratitude to our vendors and partners for their generous donations at this year’s events,” says Bill Stewart, President of Petra Industries. “This 10th annual event was a huge success and exceeded our expectations. We increased the donations to the two charities by 20% over last year’s contribution.
